Thanks for your interest in sports nutrition training! We offer full service sports nutrition plans for athletic programs in Northern California. We also offer distance (online) learning options.
Each plan is customized to the needs of the entire team as well as each athlete. Our basic services are listed below. Contact us for more information for personal consultations.
PLAN 1: Advanced Nutrition Training
- Pre-assessment – Analysis* of the team’s eating attitudes and food choice behaviors.
Results from this assessment will assist in the development of future sessions. Includes individualized feedback for each athlete. (*Athlete Eating Questionnaire – to be completed and returned by all team members prior to meeting)
- General Nutrition Overview AND
- Total caloric needs for athletes (lecture)
- Nutrition needs of endurance/power athletes (lecture) AND
- Discuss sports specific diet to meet the needs of female athletes (lecture) AND
- Discuss NCAA rules on banned substances: dietary supplements; illegal/legal drugs (lecture) AND
- Q & A (open forum)
Electronic email follow-up service is also included; Available at anytime for all members of the coaching staff and athletes.
PLAN 2: Performance Nutrition
- Re-assessment of team – Analysis* of the team’s eating attitudes and food choice behaviors; identify any improvements/regressions since last meeting. Results from this assessment will assist in the development of future sessions. Includes individualized feedback for each athlete. (*Athlete Eating Questionnaire – to be completed and returned by all team members prior to meeting).
- Provide athletes with a discussion style learning environment and online tools to help reach their peak performance goals. The following are example lectures of sport nutrition topics include:
Hydration: The Silent Performance Enhancer (lecture)
Hydration versus dehydration – athletes will assess their current fluid balance; athletes will determine a fluid strategy and will know when and how much to consume.
Pre-Racing/Race Day Fueling: How to choose the right foods to fuel muscles before, during and at the end of race day. (lecture)
Recovery Plan: Refueling to win – athletes will assess their diet and learn how to refuel with the right kinds of foods to maximize health and performance. (lecture)
Review NCAA Banned Substances (lecture)
Performance Nutrition Review AND
Mobile Nutrition: Eating on the road – athletes will learn what kinds of foods to choose when traveling and how to prepare easy (performance enhancing) meals and snacks. (lecture)
Q & A (open forum)

PLAN 3: End of Season Review
- Final team assessment – Final analysis* the team’s eating attitudes and food choice behaviors at the end of the racing season; identify any improvements/regressions since last meeting; discuss changes that they will instill and work on during break and learn what to improve upon prior to their return next season. Includes individualized feedback for each athlete.
In person discussion of results to the team from this assessment will assist in the development of future sessions. (*Athlete Eating Questionnaire – to be completed and returned by all team members prior to meeting)
